How to properly install the Serato Drivers for Windows 7 and Vista.
(Disconnect the Rane interface for now)
First we need to disable UAC:
1. Go to Start (the button 'Start' in Windows) and then 'Control Panel'.
(Make sure you are in Classic View)
2. Click on User Account Controls
3. Click on the option towards the bottom 'User Account Control Settings' and move the slider in the pop-up window to 'Never Notify' and click OK.
4. Your Computer will Restart.
Once it is fully booted, connect your Rane Interface.
Now you will need to open the 'Device Manager':
1. Click Start menu.
2. Right click on Computer and choose 'Manage'.
3. Click on the 'Device Manager'.
4. Now locate the 'Serato Usb Device' under the 'Serial Bus Controllers', right click on it,
and choose to 'Uninstall'.
5. During the uninstall process make sure to check the option in the lower left corner of
the pop up window that says 'Delete Device Driver Software'.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once the driver is gone, unplug the Rane Interface and plug it back into a different USB port on your Computer and delete the driver if it shows up again. Do this for ALL USB PORTS on your Computer.
Once you have uninstalled all the drivers from every port on the Computer, follow these steps:
1. Shut down any program you have open and disconnect all other USB devices.
2. Plug the Rane Interface into the USB port closest to the Power Source on the Laptop.
3. Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of your desktop.
4. Click on All Programs.
5. Click on the Serato folder.
6. Click on the Scratch LIVE folder.
7. Double click the 'Update Drivers' link.
8. Once updated try opening SSL.
- If it still says 'Hardware Disconnected' try unplugging and replugging the Rane Interface into the same port.
- If your still having issues you'll need to go back to the Device Manager and uninstall the driver using the directions above again.
- Once done, unplug the Rane Interface, plug it into another usb port, and follow the directions to install the driver via the 'Update Driver' link.
- If it still doesn't work uninstall it and try it on another port.
